| Talawanda T.E.A. Party to stop unfair taxes. We feel that it is inappropriate for the Board of Education to interfere with the assessment of property values by contesting property assessments through the Butler County Auditors office, and that.it is unfair, if not unconstitutional, that the Talawanda School District continues to use property taxes as the basis of its funding. Our goal is to inform the residents of the Talawanda School District of the actions of the School Board and to explore alternative sources of funding. We feel that those means of funding should minimize their impact on seniors and those on fixed incomes. Board refuses to allow bond issue reduction on ballot. The Butler County Board of Elections has refused to allow our initiative on the November ballot. Read the Hamilton Journal article by clicking the link above. We were not notified of the hearing, and have called BOE asking why not and if there is an appeal process. Our executive committee has decided to conserve our resources and did not file a protest.
